Default Weekend Project HID LED Conversion

Over the weekend I installed my HID's and LED's. Very easy to install the ballasts for the HID's, and the LED's plugged right in. The pictures below are somewhat chronological from the process. I ordered by KBCars/XenonDepot. Those guys are awesome, answered all of my questions, and shipped the products very fast. I highly recommend them. Here is a list of the lights ordered:

HID Low Beams
http://www.kbcarstuff.com/H11-Volt-H...-p/vdp-h11.htm

Halogen High Beams
http://www.kbcarstuff.com/9005-HB3-N...-p/nok9005.htm

LED Parking Lights
http://www.kbcarstuff.com/Philips-Bl...9666000kx2.htm

LED Fogs
http://www.kbcarstuff.com/9006-HB4-X...d-9006-led.htm

Notice the last 2 pictures, the 2nd to last looks very blue (which looks straight awesome in my opinion!) but the last photo shows what it looks like once the bulb warms up; more of a white with a faint hint of blue.

Cheers!

Looks nice, man! You should have gone with HID Fog to match your HID low beam

I agree, but I wanted to save a little money and install time. Once the low's heat up, you really cant tell much of a difference. I might make the switch in the future.

For your information, I have the 8000k fog and also 3000k fog. They both look good but the 3000k golden yellow actually enhance visibility during rain and foggy situation. What I mean is 3000k not only look good but also functional.

I wanted to keep it an arctic white/blue look. However, I always thought the higher the k of bulb, the brighter it was, thus making things more visible.

Actually, in general, the lower the k of the bulb, the more lumens hence brighter. 10000k is so much dimmer than 5000k while our OEM 4300k is actually brighter than the 5000k.

However, 6000k to 8000k looks very good (pure white to white/blue) to me for low beam.

I'm a fan of yellow fogs as well.

I noticed you said LED high beams but linked halogen bulbs. Did you use those halogens? If so, which color did you use and can you comment on the color of the DRL? (assuming you don't have the DRL disabled)

I'm looking for something to get rid of the dull yellow look of the factory DRL. I was contemplating going with the LED high beams, but not entirely sure I want to give up my high beams all together.

I think you should just have it turned off. The LED high beams have flickering issue, durability issue and so forth and worst of all losing high beams all together. May be it is just me but I'm more into substance over form or function over look.

I agree with you, but function is relative. In 6 years, I don't think I have ever used my high beams. My dealer refuses to do it, so it's either change them or get a techstream.
