Default Cam gear noise after recall?!?!

My car is an 06 is350 with 100k. I've had the cam gear recall done and I notice this very strange cold start noise every day. I've never herd the noise prior to the dealer servicing my car. I've attached a video . Any input is greatly appreciated.

^ What he said X100.....take it back to the dealer sooner than later. Is the noise coming from underneath the car too?

I can't crawl under the car as I'm lowered on coils. It only dose this when it's a cold start. After the motor warms up is stops.

Looks like your water pump is leaking too, if that's coolant on top of the oil filter housing.

How long ago did you have the cam rattle recall completed?

To quickly tell if the sound is coming from inside the motor or having to do with a component on the front end of the motor, remove the accessory belt TEMPORARILY. Using a 14mm socket on a breaker bar, move the tensioner pulley towards the passenger side of the vehicle and simply "walk" the belt off of the pulleys. Start the COLD engine only for a few seconds to see if the noise continues. This should only take a max of 5 minutes to do...with the right tools.

Perhaps two to three months max. I'm thinking alternator MAYBE. Monday I'll contact the dealer to have them once over it. Don't think there's a charge for diagnose

alternator would make more of a whining sound. not sure if I heard an alternator making that type of grinding noise, but I guess anything is possible

Default oil

yeah, Check the oil in that thing. Make sure you have enough.
Too me it sounded like valve train noise. I like Gville's idea

Sounds like your waterpump bearing is worn out. I just got my 07 serviced for this. Also looks like you have leaking engine coolant. When I did my recall, they told me that my waterpump was leaking but I held off on repairs until it developed this rattling sound like yours. Apparently it's a common issue on our cars. Some waterpumps fail at 20k miles. Mine was at 53k. The pump will be in front of the engine in the middle of all the drive belts. It's a $700 repair. Luckily I have extended warranty.

It's going back to the dealer on the 26th of this month. The coolent was just dried fr the recall work. I cleaned the area and checked my levels all are ok. Let's see what the dealer says.

No codes CEL's or anything. Oil level seems correct

>>"Oil level seems correct."

That's good to hear. Yeah I'd park it until you get to take it in. Unless you have a friendly neighborhood shop that someone could listen to it and not charge you anything.
Hope its not anything big.

Can't park it she's my daily driver. Only dose it when it's cold out but after the motor warms up the sound goes away.

Hell if I blow it up and the dealer is a fault "new motor time"!!
