Default Should I buy? Or just wait?

Hey guys, I'm looking at this 2008 IS250 we just got traded in at our dealership. Bad thing is it has 107,XXX miles on it. I'm coming from a B6 (03) Audi A4 Quattro with 67,XXX miles on it. Should the high miles worry me? I know these can last a long time if taken care of and I've been looking for an IS For a long time. It doesn't have all the bells and whistle I want (base IS) but hey at least it's the car I want. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I'd never replace a car with one that had more miles. Plus, Lexus is generally a reliable brand--but that's no guaranty that this vehicle will be reliable. How's your Audi? If it's been good to you, I'd want to stay with a known quantity. Plus, with an additional 40,000 miles over what you have, you may encounter normal wear and tear items that need fixing or replacing, which have nothing to do with reliability.

107K is not a bad thing. Take it out for a test drive to see if it still purrs and look up its service records

^ I agree, you can at least consider it, take the IS for a test drive. Even if it is a Lexus, 107 is lot of miles.

I would take my time and still look around. Another IS will pop up.

My first IS had 120k on it, I had no issues as the owners took great care of it.

I would go test drive it, but I would ultimately wait. Your not in a rush to get a car so i would wait till the one with all the options you want pop up

It depends, what are your goals. Do you want a car you can keep for the next 10 years? Do you commute far or drive a lot?

To simply answer your question, 107,000K is nothing to be worried about with proper maintenance performed.

My advice, hold on for a car you really want. Take you time. You'll be kicking yourself when next month another one gets traded in that's perfect.

Wait and find a used IS350 instead! You won't regret it!

Thanks for the responses. I drove it Wednesday and it didn't skip a beat. Drove fine. Loved it. I really want an IS350 but since I'm only 21 getting financed for one would be a bit difficult. My cars been great but I'm not into it like I was before. Audi in general Really. I've always loved the IS. My childhood favorite was the first gen IS. But as luck would have it....the wholesaler came and took it. Guess it wasn't meant to be. Oh well. I'll find another. Only thing that sucks is I would like a 350 with mark Levinson parking sensors and or headlamp washers just because here in tx you just don't see those rare options. I like that. Lol. But I have my eye on a red one in Austin.

I would wait. Especially if you are only 21 with difficulty getting financed, then if you are really patient wait till DECEMBER that way its the last month of the year and the sales ppl have to get their quota filled and old cars need to be removed from the lot. The best time to buy a used is always at the end of the year, and if you really get lucky 12/31 and you cant go wrong from there.

Good luck!
