Default so frustrating to find a is350

so im pretty much ready to buy now and cant seem to find a is350 that fits my needs anywhere around my location. I know alot of you said that you might have to travel to find one but honesty i cant really afford to now nor do i have the time. I found one with low miles thats red exterior black interior but the inside is pretty beat up with on 34k milesm probably was abused. Next one is also good red interior but has the tan interior which im not really a big fan of. other than that theres nothing in or around the chicago area. keep in mind it needs to be right at or under 60k miles and year 2007 or 2008, im not wanting to spend any more than 22k TOTAL. If anyone spots one within 50 miles or so of chicago please let me know, heres what im looking for..it could be dealer or private party. I would have to get it inspected first, prefferebly by lexus dealer.

-gray or red exterior ONLY (red preffered)
-black interior ONLY
-at or under 60k miles
-Very clean inside and out
-clean carfax no accidents, prefereably 1 owner
-2007 or 2008 even 2009 but cant be more than 22k OUT THE DOOR
-NAV and other options like sports package would be a bonus but not necessary as long as the car is really clean and clean carfax...

Is it only going to get harder since spring is coming?

this is the one i mentioned that has 34k miles and interior honestly looks like crap. dings and scratches in alot of places. i actually test drove this and made them an offer, they wont come down a penny on this car and had it for sale for over a year already...beats me.. but yea kinda suspcisous, 3 owners only 34k miles and interior is honestly pretty beat up..lots of wear on drivers seat on the left side on the leather, and cut marks on dash and passenger door, back doors had this white powder stuff all over the doors that could be cleaned but i mean come on...they wouldnt come down on price a single penny so i passed..

Looks like the Lux pack, perhaps they just bought the pedals aftermarket?? But then I thought the Lux always had nav...

Stay on cars.com. I like to use autotempest.com as well. I bought mine private sale off craigslist...always going to be cheaper in that route. Yeah it might be a little safer to purchase from a dealer, but having worked in that field, most dealerships put the bare minimum into a car and will only replace parts if you are positively going to buy it and you complain about it.

But basically, search everyday. The good ones/reasonably priced ones only last a few days at best. But the others stay.

I think it took me around 3 or 4 months to find mine.
Test drove a few that were beat - passed up probably a hundred clean 250's.
Then found a gem.
I had a spare truck to drive though - so it didnt matter.
WELL worth the wait to find something you love.
Buying a used car that you are not happy with - is a horrible feeling. Especially when they are $20K+

Take your time. Wait for one to open up.

Why does the whole radio area in this one look different to me, what's that lil red or black dot on the silver panel thing on the right side of radio? Anyone know what package it has. Thanks

Radio looks exactly like my 07 IS250, so its normal. Thats the security light. Lights up when the doors are locked. My guess is premium package.

It takes time to find the specific model you want if you buy used. Thought about posted a WTB thread?

I can spend anywhere from 6 months to a year looking for just the right car when buying used. When you see the right one you'll buy it right away. Don't worry it will show up eventually. You could always pick up a beater to tie you over if you need a car right away.

Make the dealership transfer a car. I live in NC and bought my 250 in FL. Transferred for only $300. Detailed and inspected included. Im in the process of getting a 350 (2 months later) and found the one I want. They want $400 to transfer from Alabama. $400 ain't nothing for 5 years of regret for something you didn't want. Another option Fly to your car and drive it home. Plans ticket to anywhere $300. You live in Chicago. Buy your IS from the South!!!!

Remember get what you want, don't settle and regret it just to save a few hundred!
