Default New member, thinking about buying lexus

I currently own a 2010 Mitsubishi lancer and im thinking of selling it and buying a lexus. I'm torn between the is250-is350. I don't really think the 250 would be a bad deal on getting because honestly it's got more HP than the car i currently do own.. But i feel as if i bought the 250 i'd regret not getting the 350. Also i've heard the 250 is less reliable than the 350. I'm just looking for some help and to be able to discuss =) All help and opinions are welcome!

Get the 350, you'll be glad you did.

I asked the same question about a month ago. I was told to get the 350 by everyone BUT the 250 was starfire pearl and tan leather that I wanted. It was 9k less and 14k less miles than the 350 I was looking at. I went with the 250 and haven't regretted it but I don't race.

Now hows the mpg on them, cause im torn between the 350/g37 as well. One of the major factors leaning me more towards the 350 is the mpg.

I don't know yet. The dealership filled up my tank and when my wife borrowed it last week she did the same. I guess gas is FREE!

I currently have a IS250, I would recommend the 350 not only for the added HP but to avoid the carbon build up issues on the 250 engines! I just had my engine overhauled for free due to the carbon build up which is nice but id rather just have not had to deal with any of those issues.. plus the repairs they did were only phase one of the repairs carbon cleanup the Lexus engineers are working on a phase 2 so that it prevents the issue from happening no one knows when that phase 2 will happen.. go with the 350 save yourself from the carbon issues!

I get 24.8 mpg with my 250...total stop and go driving. In my '08 G37 coupe, I never got better than 20. It would fly though.

I rip on my IS350 daily, and it still nets me 22 mpg. I hear various mpg readings on IS250 models, but they vary from only 24 to 28.

For the extra 100 ponies AND the fact that you'll not have to worry about the carbon build-up issue is worth the extra $$ to me.

For me it would come down to whether you want to shift manually. If yes, your choice narrows immediately to an IS250.

MANY people have asked this question! Many have regretted getting the 350. If you don't care about power or race then the 250 is fine, which was my exact thought. Good luck.

Personally i would say look for a 350 just on the strength of not having to deal with the carbon build up issue alone. but for me the power and braking is far superior in the 350 so that was the selling point for me. but like said above if none of that matters to you, then get the 250.

but in all honesty older 350's are so cheap now, why even get a 250 at all really. but thats just me. good luck man

My brother got a 250 about a year ago. I fell in love with the car when he brought it home. So, in nov I went and bought a 350. If you ask my brother he would tell you to go get a 350.
