So if the tcc solenoid is not working properly this will cause the transmission to not shift pass 3rd gear? Or is this a different solenoid?

From what I heard. I'll also try to change TCC and ECT Solenoid myself. This picture from different CL member.

Do you know the part# to the ETC Solenoid?

I have a 07 is250 automatic with about 136k on it. Been experiencing some of these issues and took it to a shop and said they want to open up the tranny and rebuild it or put a used one in. Basically when I put it in manual mode I can't shift past 3rd gear or else the rpm's will shoot straight up. Codes shown are P0751 ,P0766, P2714, P2757. Should I have the solenoids replaced before doing more to the tranny or is it more complex than that? What should I be expecting price wise.

You can try to replace solenoid yourself, but will cost about $200 each from dealer. I would try to replace the one that arrow point to from picture above. I have replace transmission oil pan gasket myself before but not solenoid.

Ya that's what I'm going to try fist. Were you experiencing the same issues as me?

No. But my car feel slow sluggish acceleration 0-60, and transmission jerk changing to D or R. But seem better after 5 minute warm up or 30 minute after driving.

I know I had the 2757 code that has to do with the lock up I believe, my car wouldn't shift passed 3rd gear on auto or manual mode. I know I had at least another code or 2 all transmission related so they rebuild my transmission, the problem came back within a week so I took the car back and they tld me it was the solenoids because that's the only thing that wasnt replaced, so they "rebuild them" car ran fine( better than when I purchased it) at around 1500 miles problem seems to want to come back, at this point I will try to replace the solenoids that need to be replaced. So from my experience I would say start from the solenoids. And find a good transmission shop👍good luck bud.

Awesome, thanks for the input. I'm going to try a new solenoid and and see if that fixes it. If that doesn't work I'm going to have the trans rebuilt

Default torque converter solenoid

CarlitosPR, I never saw anything more on your response after you said you were replacing the torque converter solenoid, did this work?? For your issues with the VSC and not having to replace the transmission?

At the dealership right now. I have 135k miles on the car. Service advisor said it may need a transmission flush, but may not solve the problem. $4k for a new transmission. Asked him what is the life of a transmission he stated 100k miles. Which seems really low. But many of us seem to be running to issues at around the same mileage.

I think it depend on the car some have 150k mile or more and still no issue with transmission.

I had better start saving for that new trans then; I'm coming up on 100k miles now! LOL!
