is250 AWD AUTOMATIC TO MANUAL TRANSMISSION SWAP
Is this possible I can't find any threads on it? Has anyone done this, thought about doing this, know it it's possible. I like having all wheel drive but am wondering if I can throw the manual is250 transmission in my awd and have everything work still. Run the manual shift linkage and cut room for the shifter

I dont think lexus ever made an manual AWD IS250. Not even in the newer models. So technically its impossible. If your converting to RWD, its possible but it would be easier to just get a new Manual car and sell the auto

I know they make the rwd in manual but I was wondering if the manual transmission would bolt up and work with the awd system. But apparently the transmissions are diffrent or bolt up diffrent to the 2.5l on the rwd manual and awd automatic? I figured maybe since the rwd and awd share the same motor that the trans would be a direct bolt on

I seen threads on people wanting to put the is350 motor in a rwd is250 and all those threads but haven't seen anything on clublexus about taking the manual transmission out of a IS250 Rwd and bolting it up to a automatic is250 awd. I know from being in the Honda game it was a big deal to take a automatic integra throw a manual transmission in it with the shift linkage and cut the shifter box so you can use the manual transmission

There are certain things that are easier than others. Doing a manual swap into a RWD IS250? Quite possible. Doing an auto swap would also be possible.
The tailshaft housing on the RA62 is not designed to bolt to anything, the driveshaft just slides onto the output shaft. The only way I could possibly see doing it would be to use the output shaft from an RA60 or RA61F (Tacoma/FJ Cruiser) and some sort of custom extension/adapter housing that can use an externally-mounted shifter linkage from the IS250 and bolt up to the AWD's A760H transfer assembly. I have my doubts about the output shaft fitting with the transfer though, even with one from a 4WD version of the transmission.
Basically, any way you slice it from my perspective, the only way to make this happen is to be able to custom cast and machine casing and shafts. It is going to be quite cost prohibitive in my mind, unless you are able to sell a lot of them, and I just don't see that happening.

Yes, you two are in agreement, he was replying to your incorrect first post, not your corrected post afterward. Swapping a transmission isn't the end of the world, provided you have everything you need. The problem is that "everything you need" doesn't exist to build an AWD IS250 with bolt-on parts.
