Changing USB folder while driving.

I was on a road trip and was listening to songs on the USB. When I attempted to change the folder the option was greyed out. I figured it was due to the motion lockout so I tried to go to next song using my steering wheel controls. All that did was move to the next song within the same folder (even though I was at the last song in that folder. Is there a way to bypass this?
