2009 IS350 Power Window Issue
Hi Folks,
New to this forum and I've searched previous threads to see if I can find some help, but haven't found an exact match for the problem I've encountered.
About a week ago, out of the blue, the driver-side power window control button for my front, passenger window stopped working. The passenger-side power window control button still works and will lower and raise the window, but the driver-side control button won't.
I took it to a Toyota dealership and they said the switch is still getting power so they think it might be the motor on the passenger-side window...that's 1,000 just for the part to replace and, to me, it doesn't make sense that the passenger-side control button is still operating effectively if the motor is the issue.
I saw some threads about resetting the window controls. Do you think that is what is the problem?

Using the passenger side window control, with the window already FULLY UP, roll down the window all of the way and hold it there for a few seconds. Then immediately roll up the window and hold for a few seconds. If that doesn't reset that window's control, then there's a larger problem here.

Gville350 - you were right! Thanks so much for this extremely valuable advice. So glad I checked here instead of just blinding taking the dealership's advice. Tex2670 - you're spot on. Won't be going to that dealer again.
Thanks again to each of you for your advice.

A friend of mine has the same problem and the dealer quoted over a grand which made me freak out.
I've seen some infiniti(nissan)&hyundai cars with that issue and it had something to do with the motor inside the door. Sorry to hear that.
