Default Fuel gauge won't go to FULL

My '10 IS350 Fuel Gauge only showed 3/4 full when the tank was over flowing. I had visions of the fuel tank being pulled to replace the fuel pump/sender unit, but the dealership ended up fixing the problem by disconnecting the battery which re-set the ECU. I was very happy at the easy fix!

I guess with everything control by electronics, any time something is off the first thing to do is unplug the battery ... like shutting down the computer when it doesn't want to work :/
