Default Wife locked both keys in my IS350

Got a 2011 IS350.

Both key fobs were low on battery so I was keeping both in the car in the center console. The batteries were so low I had to touch the keyfobs to ignition switch every time I started the car.

Wife took my car to grocery store- came back and manually locked the car. DOH- My fault as I didn't tell her the situation.

Since the signal from the keyfobs is nonexistent- the car locked...with both fobs inside.

Called Lexus Roadside and they sent someone out to pop the door open.

When the guy got there- he wasn't too good and seemed to be doing more damage to my car than help. I told him he could go.

So- back to square one. Both keyfobs stuck in car...car is locked.

What are my options other than getting another person to break in the car?

Thanks in advance.

I thought the car wouldn't lock with keys in it.

If the battery in the fobs are so low the car can't detect the fobs- the doors will lock.

My dumbazz should never had let both batteries drain so low.

I see.Too bad both were low.
Guys using a slim jim to open the door scares me.

The only way that I think this could be solved without using a slim jim would be: Having a Lexus dealer cut a key to your vin number, that way you can open the door manually. But it may cost you a pretty penny.

You could also just keep putting your hand through the driver side and passenger side door handles and who knows, you might just get lucky and catch a signal from the remote.

Good luck with getting the car open. Let us know how everything turns out and how you had it done so that way if any of us run into the same problem we could use this as a resource.

Did you get a 3rd key (no fob, literally just a cutout of the key itself) when you purchased the car? It may have come with the manuals, or other books they included when you got the car. I have one for my RX350 but can't recall if the IS had the same...

Cutting a physical key from your vin is your best bet. Pick up batteries while you're at the dealership too lol.

those batteries are pretty standard you can get them for $1-2 each. Dealer would charge $5 probably. Go to radio shack or autozone they carry the CR2032 batteries

Don't the fobs use 1632 batteries? I ordered like 5 from ebay when one of my fobs started to read low battery.

I'd just get a new key cut from your VIN.

if you're going to spend the dough to get a new key cut, might as well just get a smart card for your wallet

Call the police department (not 911!), a cop will come with a slim jimand open your joint right up in less than a minute.
