Exclamation master techs i have a question

i was told that having short ram intake would cause my o2 sensors to go bad. i find this hard to believe since the car manufacture sells there own version of the sri. i've had this sri on my 08 for 6yrs and it has less the 65k on the clock. i due understand that o2 sensors go bad but because of an sri come on!

tia in for expertise and for chiming in.

I was also thinking that's what he meant but was not sure. An intake could shorten the life of the O2 sensor. It could run a little richer or leaner depending on what the computer is seeing. I don't really see how it would make them go out dramatically quicker. I've had zero issues with several vehicles that had intakes. I have seen some intakes cause a MAF failure due to excessive vibration. That was mainly from not using a rubber mount to the frame is all we could figure on those vehicles. Hope this makes sense and is what your are referring too.

I thought these cars have self adjusting ecu's that is why no has ever been able to make a piggy back ecu.

Oh and ecu means Engine Control Unit

That's why I think its very doubtful an intake will affect the O2 on these cars.

I'm still not sure why a T is an abbreviation for Intake though.
