so last week i found out engine is burning excessive oil...this week its a leaking exhaust. this car isnt aging well thus far. anyone have experience with the exhaust? is it usually just a corroded pipe or is the cat bad? dealer told me if its just a pipe they will weld it over and replace part of the pipe. if its the cat...it will be $1800!!!! wtf. anyone have experience.

Usually it would just be a corroded pipe from scraping on it or from salt on the roads. Don't bring your car to the dealership for something so simple. Look for a muffler shop around your area and they will find the problem in minutes. It shouldn't cost more than $200 each for a cat depending on the shop and $80 to weld a leaking pipe. Those are just estimates
