Looking into buying a Lexus
Hi guys,
I'm interested in buying a used Lexus IS250 2007. As i'm a first time buyer i don't want to be ripped off by the dealer. So I would like your help to tell me if the price is reasonable or not, and if the car can last with me 2-3 years.
IS250 2007 for $14,000 Out The Door.
-Clean Title
-123,000 miles
-No Nav, basic specs
-about 4 major scratches
-Front headlight doesn't work. (Refer to picture)
Thanks

Not sure I would buy a car without a working headlight (those things can be pretty pricey to fix). Have you searched the VIN on the Lexus website to see what service has been done to it at the dealership?

Check the maintenance records (if it has any - usually the cars have the records associated with the VIN on the Lexus Owners website).
Looks like it's been used pretty heavily - not sure what your standards are, but the scratches will be pricey paint fixes. Headlight can be a bulb or ballast problem.
Does the car have carbon issues (commonly associated with 250s)? How are the rest of the mechanical maintenance items (alternator, bushings, hubs, etc.)? Those are all accumulated costs if you'll need to repair them down the line.

might be able to find an 06 350 without nav and a ton of miles , beat to hell from a shady small lot, they bought from an auction that's probably salvaged or had body work. Trust me when I was shopping for an is350, most where trashed at small lots, ended up paying a higher price at a dealer CPO, you pay a bit more but .9% incentive it's a wash.

Contrary to what people are posting here, I haven't found anything within 100 miles of LA that's cheaper than this car. The IS250 is not cheap, not even for an '07 model.

I just can't seem to find any IS250 cheaper than this one. And there are quite a few that are more expensive, like $16.6-17k OTD. I wish you would point to to where I can get some good deals.
The reason might be my location, around LA. I don't know, but this deal right here is the cheapest one around.
