Default Before/After IS F Grill install on my IS 250

Any questions please feel free to ask. the grill takes 5 min to take off if you to it correctly. Also, you do not have to take off the grill surround, just the center grill. Please ask questions if you have any.

my only concern is the color contrast, i almost wanted to match the car and bottom grill by going with a black, but i went with a metallic gray duplicolor toyota color. How do you all feel about the color of the new grill contrasting with the bottom grill and car color?

Thanks! I got it off ebay, 50 bucks. Paint/Clearcoat was 14 total, and I got the 3M adhesive for 5 bucks.

I used this guide:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-56k-nooo.html

I did up to step 3 then stopped, i had no idea how to remove the surrounding chrome piece, so i actually undid the tabs holding the grill, then actually pushed it in, then up and out. this was possible because the surround was loose. it literally took 1 min to do. do not be intimidated by this project, super easy.

the emblem disassembly from the grill was very easy too, i didnt even heat it up, just used a credit card, slid it under the emblem and worked the emblem off.

Thanks for posting these pics, I ordered the same one off eBay last week, should get it on Monday. I wasn't sure if I should paint it or not. I like what you've done but I think I'm going to see what it looks like fitted without it painted. I might black out the chrome too.

I painted it the color I did because people said the grill would almost be indistinguishable on the car unless it was painted a shiny metal color, and kind of blend in with the car if I did not paint it.

The grill comes in black plastic. I would HIGHLY recommend painting it some form of black at least if you are going black, due to the grill looking very "unfinished" as it comes. maybe a glossy black to let it pop a bit more. I went with a shiny dark gray, and I am happy with the result.

mines an 06, im sure its not much different with yours. Doing a little research, i see where my grill is held in place by tabs, and yours will be held by tabs and screws. Maybe this will help:
