I doubt they will total it given the cost of the car and I have only had it about 9 months.. we'll see though. Guesstimates on repair? I am thinking 10-12k.

First , glad you and your daughter are ok. but seriously, 30 MPH, It doesn;t even looks like you break... Perfect weather conditions, no wet asphalt. Were you texting?
Very strange they airbags didn;t deploy but that it's another reason they'll not total the car.

Looks like impact was over the top of the bumper is why the airbags didn't deploy. If you don't need the airbags you don't want them hitting you or your daughter in the face, it is not a pleasant thing to have happen.

Current generation air bags use accelerometers to sense crash force. The accelerometers are usually located behind the firewall. (Many times under the center counsel between the front seats.)

By measuring the g-force of the crash the system can determine whether to deploy the airbags or not.

If deployment is necessary it determines how hard to deploy the airbag based on the crash forces.

If the force of the crash isn't hard enough to cause severe injury or death no reason to deploy the airbags.

Sounds like you walked away so the system worked and determined deployment wasn't needed.

Appears repairable. With the low front IS and high back end Impala, it looks like you mostly went under his bumper? Hence all the hood and engine area damage.
Glad you are okay.

Hopefully I will hear back from insurance tomorrow.. surprised no one has reached out to me yet.. but weekend.

I understand I should be able to chose the body shop in which case I plan to use the place the Lexus dealer uses and recommends. Plus I know they will use OEM parts. Missing it already though.. we have a spare car but it's my wife's Nissan Juke which is like driving a shoe. LOL
