Default Squeak at low speed

Hey Guys,

I am experiencing a squeaking sound when traveling low speeds probably anywhere under 30mph its faint but you can hear it with the window down when passing by buildings or parked cars. I am thinking the Caliper might be rubbing ever so slightly. Anyone else ever experience this? It seems to go away when the brakes are engaged.

Thanks!

Sometimes my brakes squeak a bit when i first start up my car and head out.. once they warm up it tends to go away.. hard to say because the sound itself will tell you a lot about what could be happening.. does the sound change at all depending on the temperature of your brakes or?!

No, It doesnt happen when the brakes are being pressed. It's just normal driving where you hear the squeak kind of constant. When you press the brakes it goes away.

i would inspect the brake pads. it might be low and the wear indicator is making contact with the rotors

Rear calipers might be seized causing one pad (innermost pad) to touch and drag on the rotor.

That or the rotor guard thing may be touching your rotor slightly. I've seen that issue a few times.

Thanks for all the responses. Gives me a better idea before digging in to it.
