TL lens projector swap from stock
Hey guys, my roommate drives a TL and he recently upgraded his projector lens. So he has a extra set of stock TL lens for me to use. Now question is can I swap my stock lens out and use them or will I have to retro a whole new projector? I've searched around I've only found people swapping out the whole projector. Thanks guys.

TL vs IS250 (TL on left)

TL is actually just slightly larger diameter than our IS lens.

TL lens sitting on IS250 projector bowl. Will not sit perfectly in the groove.

TL lens with IS lens retainer on. I believe it will work just fine.

Looks like it will do, if that's what you really want to do.

Will it fit in the groove perfectly? NO. Can you make it work? YES. But I have actually fired up the combo in a dark garage, and expectedly.. the output still sucks. Mainly because the bowl is a horrible design. So definitely NOT worth taking off your bumper, taking off your head lights, baking them, opening them up.. just to swap out the lens with almost zero improvement.
Lens swap on IS projector is a huge waste of time IMO. If you're going to open the lights up, you may as well retrofit.
