Default Painted grill surround?

What is the best way to go about painting your grill surround from chrome to the Obsidian color? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Plastidip will only look good for a little while. I lightly sanded my grill surround and had it professionally painted

I used CF vinyl on my first IS, you could use gloss black vinyl. It was a pain to get it just right around the corners though

Have a shop paint it. Plastidip looks cheap, I had mine sprayed for almost a year and it looks bad.

+1 Plastidip. Super fast, reversable, cheap, and last a long time.

Professionally painted is the way to go for long term. I painted mine at my paint shop and it's held up great.

I have to agree with leadfoot83, the only proper way to go.

That looks good, makes me wonder how it would look if I had mine painted to match my silver IS.
hmmm...

Nothing beats having it professionally painted. Mine's in onyx black. If you don't want to go through the hassle of finding a shop to paint it Sewell sells color matched grills.

Would it be a huge difference on a silver IS? The chrome matches the silver better than other colors
