Default Black Poly Urethane on Obsidian Black

I was wondering,

If I ordered a black poly urethane front lip and slapped it on my obsidian black IS, would it be crucial for me to paint it obsidian black, or would you even be able to tell the difference?

It will NOT be shiny. I'd paint it if you want it to look good.

That's funny. I was just getting ready to order http://www.ebay.com/itm/06-08-LEXUS-...#ht_2176wt_906 and was wondering the same thing? Do I need to paint it? Where are you ordering yours?

Order the lip you want and install it. If you feel you like the results without painting it, go for it!

It will not match. Will be able to tell the difference between the two. Its up to you whether you will like it or not.

If I am going to spend that money, im gonna make sure to get a lip that I can install myself. Its not a bad price, but you can save so much money DIY. I put H&R's on myself, when everyone was wanting to charge $450. Granted, its at the dealership getting checked out for factory spec tightening and to re-attach my abs chord that I ripped out during the process...

ill bet the bill will be $450

I'd say get it painted however before you paint it install it on the car and do any triming and drilling if any. Once you do that take it to a body shop to get it painted.

I'm going to do exactly this when I get my lips installed.
