Falken FK-453 vs Hankook V12 tires on 2IS

Had Hankooks and FK452, Falken gives you a better steering feel when turning because of the thick sidewall. I was scared of turning fast on the Hankooks because the sidewall is so freaking soft. Falken looks better when stretched too, other than that, Hankook's has better grip and less noise. Pick your poison, because they both have their own flaws.

I had the V12's and like them a lot for non-agressive street driving. Preform well, have good grip, but they do have pretty soft sidewalls which show if you really push them though. But I didn't find this out until I took my car to the track which is not the ideal place for them though. The track really ate them up quick and I had all sorts of problmes with tread block being ripped off and the tires rolling really bad. No experience with the Falken's

Why is V12 so popular on here?
Someone ran Hankook V12 on the track and V12 could not really make it, it wear down, and could not grip that good due to excessive heat on track. You can see the pictures of that from this thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...k-weekend.html

Wow, I had no idea they came out with a new tire. Can't wait to read reviews on these

Had the V12 on my 1st gen IS. They're good but get a little noisy as they wear. Read good reviews on the DW as far as performance and comfort.
Anyone here tried both the V12 vs Continental DW? Thinking about the DW for the next set of tires.

What about Dunlop Direzza Star Spec? Anyone here have experience with them? They have high ratings as well and I read a review online where they actually beat the v12's in grip and steering response. Personally I have the v12 and love them, but if the Dunlops are slightly better, I would be interested in giving them a shot!

Update: I purchased the Falken FK-453 soon after my post because at the time Discount tire was OOS of the Hankook V12. I finally had the FK-453s installed Friday 04/18/14. So far I can tell you even though they are the same size tires, the front tires seems slightly wider (they are both the same 235/30/20 size). The V12 had a little more of a stretch look. I was able to squeeze 38,000 miles out of the V12. As expected the FK-453 is a smoother ride and quieter, but I would expect that out of any new tire vs a tire with 38,000 miles. I will come back and update as time goes on.
