Default Car wouldnt start. overheated catalytics?

Yesterday I went into the store and came out and car wouldnt start, got it towed to dealership but it magically started after 3hrs and left it there anyways to be examined. Says it was overheated catalytic converters, anyone ever heard or dealt with it? Any input would be great

Never heard of it bro. The only time a converter would get "overheated" would be if it was clogged. Did the dealer recommend they be replaced, and which converters specifically (our cars have four of them)?

I've never heard of it either, but thats what the service guy told me..said it was covered under warranty so I cool with it but so strange.Could it be because of an o2 sensor? because I need to replace my b1s2...

How many miles on your '06? Yes, the cats are covered under the factory powertrain warranty, but I believe only up to 70k miles. So if you're over that, it must be goodwill repair.

Never heard of this happening before.

I had a previous check engine light because the dealer said I needed to replace an o2 sensor, but when the car wouldnt start, it popped another check engine saying "low fuel pressure".

Actually, there is a federal emissions warranty that all manufacturers must meet, 8 years or 80,000 miles.

This is correct. I had one cat replaced last week under warranty. I'm at 75,000 miles.

^^Thanks for the correction; that was actually a typo, I meant to put 80k.

Try purchasing a new Stant gas cap; fixed my phantom CELs!
