Michelin Tires, opinions!
Hey guys,
anyone have any experience with this new tires?
http://www.michelinman.com/tire-sele...4/tire-details
Michelin Primacy MXM4.
Also, what are the best all season tires money can buy (I know I should get separate summer/winter, but I do not have the budget for that right now, this discussion is solely on all season rubber.)

Junk, overpriced, slippery, loud, does not give you good mileage, can't be driven on for more than 10k miles, horrible handling, shakes, rocks get into the grooves, bubbles easily, you might as well stretch some condoms on your rims!

That's what I have now (since Oct); I only have them because Costco had to replace my Pilot Sport A/S 2's under Michelin's treadwear warranty (I got 27,000 mi out of them). I really couldn't deal with having to special order the Pilot Sports and come back in. I don't drive my car hard, and they've been fine so far. I didn't get to see real winter performance since we go no snow here in Philly this winter. They are not any noisier than the Pilot Sports, or the Bridgestone's that were OEM.
If Michelin wasn't picking up the tab for 41% of these tires though, I think I probably would have gone with Continental Contact DWS's.

I had a set of the kumho ecsta ast on my IS when I bought it CPO. Tires were garbage in the snow, and really loud. Replaced them with a set Continental Extreme contact DWS and it's night and day.

Should have updated this thread. I got a used pair of Potenza g019 grid's with 9/32'' tread left (basically new) for a killer deal so i ended up skipping out on the kumhos . I will have them mounted next week.

I had Kumhos on my Honda Accord and loved them. Not sure which series they were now though. They were definitely the Ecsta, but I'm not sure about them being the 4x. As for the Michelins, I have the Pilot Sport A/S on the front of the IS and have been quite pleased with them.

Michelin's are quite frankly most popular tires amongst most communities and shops. Personally, they are great, but there are other tires available for cheaper and similar. I've had Kumho Ecsta's, Bridgestone Potenzas, Falken Ziex's in the past and they were all similar but cheaper.
Ultimately, it's all about finding the right deal.
