Default Aftermarket subwoofer help (2010)

Hello fellow IS members. I have a slight problem. I've searched a lot of aftermarket subwoofer threads and learned a lot. Only problem is...I believe the 2006-2009 amplifier is different from the 2010 and up. I have a 2010 IS250 NON ML amp in the back and I'm confused as to which wire I tap into for the remote. Thanks a lot and please don't refer to the "orange" wire, for the 2010 NON ML amps do not have this orange wire

Yea... I've read one thread with 17 pages but it has nothing on it about the remote. Everyone talks about using the cigarette lighter or something about a fuse box. Just waiting... Thinking about doing the cig if no replies

Easiest way I would say is to use a multimeter, test for a pos(+) source with radio on, then no power when radio off, from one of the prospective factory amp inputs. Depending on your aftermarket amp, you may not even need a 12V+ trigger. Some amps can be triggered on as low as 6-8V+.

That's the path that I took when installing my aftermarket subwoofer.

Thanks KennyD. It's really had to get into the back amplifier in a ISC. It's so freaking annoying. There is a black plastic piece covering the other 2 factory amp plugs. I guess I'm just gonna have to take the multimeter out. Ughhhhhh lol

another route you can take but it may be longer, is to actually get behind the radio and tag those wires if you have more room to work with.

the best way is to find a diagram for the amp, if you tap from the cigarette lighter, the amp will be on whenever the car is running.

I heard if you get behind the radio the AC will cut off. I'd rather use some t-taps and keep it clean in the back.

I also heard about the cig lighter but I feel as though it would be a headache getting through the back seat. Getting my power wire through my back seats was a lot of work. I have the convertible. Also I've seen to have misplaced my multimeter and haven't been able to start testing but as soon as I do I will post

Thanks for the replies gentlemen!
