Got an appointment today for this... I really just wanted to use a loaner car for a day so I don't have to drive my car into town where all the crappy roads are.
Funny the customer service representative said it was going to take a LOOOOOONG time for them to do this. What, to tighten a bolt? Fine by me, so long as I have a loaner!
Am surprised that your Lexus dealer is set up for this recall already .... usually it takes a few weeks for them to get instructions from Lexus, charge codes, etc before they can do the service work on the car.

I was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by and see if they were able to do it. Who knows maybe the front desk receptionist is completely out of touch, but she set up the appointment. Guess we'll find out on Tuesday.
I stopped by a dealership (not in San Diego, or CA for that matter) today to inquire about the recall and they didn't even hear about it until today and the service consultant didn't even really know what the recall was actually supposed to address except the fact that it had something to do with the wipers. Do people not watch the news or anything? lol
anybody actually have this problem occur on their car? Seems like a pretty obscure issue.
Yes, it happened to me last year when we got snow. I had set the wipers set to auto rain sensing mode and they stopped functioning when there was a load of snow on the windshield, but I got them working after fiddling around with them.

Was the recall item really the issue? Sounds like your wipers just froze to the windshield....
Sounds like the recall issue is that under big snow/cold load the connection between the wiper arm and motor fails where the wipers can't work.....
but in your case they did work....after fiddling with the controls you un-stuck rubber to glass.???? A pretty typical situation for any car in cold weather..?
Certain 2006 to early 2012 Lexus IS models will be recalled due to possible electrical shorts in air bag modules that could cause their deployment w/o warning. And, posssible loose wiper arm clamp bolts that could cause loss of wiper arm function. No model differentiation given.
I bet If the Air Bags went off on my sedate, 5:00 a.m. ride to work, I wouldn't need coffee the rest of the day!
