Default keyless entry not working

Ok, my first issue with my IS. Hoepfully it's something I am missing here. But I have had the car for about two months and all of a sudden the Keyless entry is not working anymore. The car does not sense the Key fob in my pocket anymore. I have tried the passenger and driver side door and nothing worked. I have tried both my sets of key fobs. Any suggestions besides wasting four hours out of my day and bring it into the dealer?

Have you checked to see if the battery needs to be replaced? That's always a first step with key fobs.

when you approach your car in the dark, do the puddle lights under the outside driver's rearview mirror light up?

Have you tried to reinitialize it ? Its in the manual... I forgot exactlly how...

I think it was like bring the key like 2 inches away from the start button and press some buttons...

look it up.

Oh no, this is the type of problems I was thinking would happen to cars that are technologically advanced. Hope you get a fix quick and its not something major.

any update on this? my friend got a brand new IS250 and she can't open or lock the doors w/o pushing the button on the key. I.e. she can't open the door just by having the key in her pocket. Also, when she tries to lock the door by pressing the button on the door handle, the car lets out a long beep. She has no issues starting the car though (she doesn't need to put the key right up to the start button).

Would love to help her out before she brings it to the dealer.

When you try to lock the door via the button the handle and it lets out a long beep, it usually means there is a key fob inside of the vehicle. You can forcefully lock it via the button on the fob that you have. Double check if there is another set of keys inside the glove box??

Dunno about not being able to open the door though.

If you have to use the key fob to lock the door (because you couldn't lock it with the button and there's a key inside), you are forced to use the key fob to open it....can't use the grab handle technique.

hrmmmm... I'll definitely double check to make sure her second key is in her house like she says it is. I asked her before and she said she thought it was in the house. Maybe they included a free third key?

Do you guys have a Smart Access defeat button? you might've accidentally triggered it.
