Default My Isx50 completely dropped dead!!

2006 IS250 awd/ 51k

Okay so here we go.. At noon today, I realize my trunk won't open (neither key nor release). I'm on my way to a funeral so I figured I'd deal with it later. Car ddrives fine. Fast forward 8 hrs.

I go out to eat with no problems and then park my car t figure out trunk situation. Put in key blade then g back into car to find that it shut off. Power is on butility car won't rev or start. After jumping car , car completely zonks out and resets. Still engine won't turn.

Then I hit the alarm on key fob to lock. Car now completely dies. No lights, power, anything. I disconnect battery, wait about twenty then jump car again. After letting car juice up for about ten or twenty minutes lights now come on. I hit the start button, but now it makes a quick clicking sound. Continues to do this... then finally dies again.

Bought new battery. checked some fuses.. what advise can you guys help me with??

at 51k miles and being more than 5 years old, it would be time to replace your battery. However, to make sure its your battery and not your alternator I would get a volt meter to check (they are less than $10 at an autopart store)

If your battery measures less than 12.2-12.5 V with the car off, then you need a new battery.
With your car on, if your battery is less than 13-14.5 V, then you need a new alternator.

Sounds like your battery. Upgrade to a dry cell.

Good, strong battery in your key fob? Have you added any aftermarket stereo components or car alarms or accessory lighting?

my thoughts as well.. When the alternator goes South, it does not charge the battery. Hence, one by one, things start to not work...
