Default Help: Weird Blemish on Wheel

Hey CL, just wanted to see if anyone knows what's going on with my wheel finish. I just noticed this a couple days ago after I returned home from a month long trip so I don't really know what's the cause. My car was covered with a car cover too.

It looks like this tree branch-vein type blemish. Looks sick (not good) in person and actually really grosses me out. I tried washing and rubbing it off but it won't come off, haven't tried polishing it yet though. The surface of it doesn't feel bumpy at all, feels flat for the most part so it's not curb rash. Has this happened to anyone else before and any idea as to how it happens and how to get rid if it? Is it a form of rust?

The wheel finish is machined with black accents, and it's only one spoke that's effected. I don't use those spray-special wheel cleaner cans, just car wash soap and water. For tire shine I use Mark-V tire gloss, same thing detailers use. Pics are attached below. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks all.

from the pictures it looks as though more than one spoke is affected, contrary to what you've written.

and it looks as though your wheel has developed varicose veins - take it to the doctor (finishing shop) asap.

I think those care caused by the clear coat getting a chip or being thin at the edge of a spoke. Then something (corrosion) starts to form under the clear coat. I've seen it before. Not much you can do, short of refinishing the wheel.

^This. I'd say have them sanded and powdercoated.

Yup. Side effect of living in HI, braddah. The salt corrodes everything and there's nothing you can do.. except sell 'um and get new ones..

Thanks fellas... Yah bad thing about living in a place where there's high salt content in the air. If it turns to crap more or if the other wheels start doing the same i'll look into refinishing it or buying a new set, I've had this set for about 3 years now. Thanks again!
