I thought that the colder the air the denser the air is, therefore more hp.
However the colder the air, more energy has to be converted into creating power therefore using more fuel.
So in conclusion, best case scenario 1-2 hp and more fuel consumption?
Please correct if im wrong.

Yes thats correct. Since all modern car's air/fuel ratio is computer controlled, the more air (colder air is denser) the more fuel is needed to be in the correct stoich. ratio.

If you want more MPG, do what the pros do and install a heater coil in the air intake pipe like diesel engines or route the intake opening near the exhaust manifold.

It's not that i want more MPG, i just wanted to clarify things up. I think an user before asked if would be any gains in fuel consumption. I dont see any gains if these RMI scoops, other than possibly 1-2 hp.

I also read somewhere in these forums that most after market filters/ intakes "sucks" more air than the car actually needs it. That the only flaw in the intake its the rubber pipe that could be replaced with a hard intake pipe and that the stock air box with a aftermarket filter or f sport air intake its the perfect balance of A/F ratio that anything more it actually decrease performance.

Basically buyer beware. Which is probably not news to any of the members here, but a gentle reminder can't hurt.

Anyone can go read the posts and make up their own minds. Surely, you weren't looking for everyone to fall head over heels on this "teaser" without questioning at least:

- Reliability and dependability of the vendor
- Facts and data regarding the improvement claims made by the product
- Value for money on the product

All facts and data regarding improvement claims have been purged from the threads mentioned above, only questions remain, so there is no way to ascertain the last 2 bullets. However, there is enough posts to make an informed judgement on the first.
How has our reliability and dependability in any way been violated?
Facts and data regarding the improvement claims where made by the community.
Value is in the eye of the beholder, if you dont wish to have our product that is fine.

Im fairly certain that you are unaware of how this development and how the IS-F development has been conducted.

What details would you like? We are putting out a test product (the same way we did with the F) if the community likes them we will continue to make them. But this product is tested and reviewed by the community.

In the linked threads there are an ample number of posts detailing emails being unanswered, missed delivery dates (though they did all get delivered based on the follow up posts) and posts that were responding to posts where an MPG gain was implied, but those posts are no longer there.

Since I am no longer interested in this product, I will bow out of this thread and refrain from posting. The only reason I did this one is to answer this specific question.

I appreciate your honesty, I was not here at the time nor is the person that was involved in the lack of response here. I am now one of only three people that are here. The owner is full time the other two of us are students and do our best to reply in a timely manner.

I will stake my 12yrs in the Marines on our customer service and satisfaction.

Once again thank you for the concern for forum members as it goes to show this is a community.

If the performance gains come with some fuel economy boost, then I'm game.
