Default I'm planning to remove resonator

Hello IS250 owners,

I'm planning to remove my IS250 resonator. It cost me $80 to remove it.

I have stock exhaust system, any recommendation for my plan ?

Is it okay to remove resonator ? (To engine system, and not passing emission test ?)

Thank you and have a great day !

I would suggest against it, simply because your going to get a raspy sound.

Go for mid pipes instead.

To answer your questions, there will be no issues with your engine but emissions depends on your state.

So just remove stock midpipe and get aftermarket mid pipe ?

I just want some sound effect in my car

I would get an exhaust first rather than a midpipe. It sounds better IMO. Tanabe Medallion isn't too expensive and has a nice tone to it, albeit a bit quiet.

resonator purposely blocks out droning so dont be surprised if you get droning after you remove your resonators

Good idea.

OP, if your still interested in being louder, then get a midpipe

deleting your resonator only sounds good if you have at least an axle back to go with it, otherwise, like others said it will get raspy and not sound the greatest.

You will still get rasp, even with an exhaust

i have an hks with my resonator deleted and i don't get rasp until i reach up in the 5-6k rpm's.
and for someone who doesn't race its a nice sound because i only hear the rasp occasionally.

exhausts cost money for a reason. extensive research goes into them to minimize drone, rasps, and etc versus drilling out your resonator for 80 bucks.

I'm thinking of doing same thing, a member here recommended a place that does it for $40 CAD
I have Tanabe axleback and it's too quiet for my taste so want to add a little more growl to it
I have AWD btw so no midpipe lol

I had similar issues with my Fsport + res delete setup. When I go WOT, I sounded like a honda with a fart cannon =

My HKS + Invidia setup sounds deeper at idle and WOT (compared to res delete) and had zero rasp.

Very true. I learned that the hard way. My stock midpipe with a deleted resonator is sitting in my garage collecting dust

do they make test pipes for AWD? that'll make it louder.
