Default Aftermarket hood for IS350

Are CF hoods the only option out there? I'm just curious as to what options we have. Not OEM style.

Seibon has a CF vented hood. You can always paint it.

Not afraid of anything. Just why would you buy something carbon fiber and then paint it? If I got CF then I'd wanna show it but I don't want a CF hood

Weight savings and a new look (if it has ventilation)?

If you're going to paint the hood then consider a fiberglass variant as oppose to the CF one. Why would you paint the CF one when you're clearly paying more for that reason. And lets be honest here... The only thing separating a mass manufactured CF hood and a fiberglass hood nowadays is one sheet of CF and some gel coating so weight difference between the two are marginal at best.

IMO vented hoods on a Lexus converts it to rice.

Kinda off topic, but would an aftermarket CF hood really be lighter than the OEM aluminum hood? If not, why get a CF hood at all?

Only issue being yes Love to show the cf. But for those living in south fl know what the sun does to cf. Hense painting will keep in good condition. Buttt it does lose the whole point of paying all that money.

Not much of a market for the 2IS as far as aftermarket hoods go. CF is gonna be pretty much the only way to go - and painting over it if you dont like the CF look. I guess you could have a shop do custom work on the OEM hood to modify it with vents or whatever you would like - but after fabrication/labor cost and repainting, you will be a good amount over just getting a CF hood and painting it.
