When the light goes off, it's about a good time to check all four of the tire pressures and to get them at their correct levels and reset it. When it was initially set, they are usually set to go off within a certain tolerance range from when they were set and once it goes beyond it, the light will go off.
This happened to me before in the winter and I told my tire tech. He told me to bring it in to get the pressures adjusted because most likely the cold weather did because it was snowing. Later during the day, the light went away because it was slightly warmer but brought it in anyways. Afters the pressures were adjusted, I reset the senors.

It was something that baffled my mind until I thought back to my chem class. Heat make air expand (when your driving the air in your tires get hot/ in the summer the air and blacktop is hot in general) the cold makes air compress, hence the low tire lights in the winter. Its a pain in the *** but anyone in the colder regions like my self should check their tire pressure just to make sure they are at the right level.

Haha, man if the spare had a sensor in it too...now that would be LUXURY! But yeah, my tire sensor went off tonight and it had to be the coldest night since I got my car two months ago. The tire pressures seem to be fine, but I'll check in the morning when its a little warmer.
Also, I noticed one of my air caps are missing. Is it going to be a big problem for air leakage?

I brought my car in to get my air pressure checked since I had the light on for a while but wasn't able to bring it in while I was on vacation.
Turned out, that both front tires dropped a bit on pressure because of the cold. The rear tires were fine. Everything is back up to snuff, and I reset the sensors.
