Default "Check system" and TPS

So I've had my car for about a week now, pretty savvy when it comes to cars I normally work on them myself but, being that I now have a Lexus the tables have turned a little. I have a "check system" and "low tire pressure light" it came on last week, I filled them the recommend pressure even the spare, re-initialized the system. The reinitialize knocked out the "check system light" but the low tire light was still on. Just yesterday the "check system" light came back on along with the 3 flashes of the TPS, any idea what it could be? The tires are holding the air, i wanted some input before I venture over to Thompson Lexus. Thanks in advance for your input!

Could be a dead battery on one of the TPMS sensors... especially if it's an older model.... (first 2ISes came out mid 2005, so there's batteries over 7 years old now.... in theory they're good for 10 years but one going bad at 7 wouldn't be unheard of)

+1 for going to an independent shop to check for a dead TPMS sensor. Good way to save $100.

I had the same thing happen to mine recently, my 08 is still under warranty so they checked it for free and they told me they had to reset the TPMS system. No problems since.

yeah there was no way i wanted to take it to the dealer. My buddys got a shop back home with a snap-on motis. is there any way I can check with that? I know you can access pretty much the entire car. As for the batteries in the TPMS, ill look into that my IS is and 06 the batteries are probably starting to fail.

My buddy has a snap-on launch computer and i believe he can reset tpms with that, not sure about the motis though. I would definitely give it a try because keeping the battery off the car doesn't reset the tpms.
