Default Parking lights don't turn on, but side markers do. What do you think?

Hello CL members,

I did a search but I couldn't find an answer. I just noticed my parking lights (the little bulbs above the DRL/high beams) don't turn on, but the side markers light up. If the fuse is blown, I assume the side marker lights shouldn't turn on either unless they have a different fuse. Does anyone know if the side marker lights and parking lights share the same fuse?

Thanks

did you try reversing the bulb? it only works on a specific side. also, the Parking lights dont come on till you put the car in gear and release the brakes. if that doesnt work check your fuse for sure. there are a couple fuses for the parking lights. my taillight fuse blew so the parking lights in my tails werent working but all the other functions did.

So I checked the fuses and they are fine. I also checkd both parking light bulbs they don't seem burnt. I am very confused now. I can hear the relays click when I turn on the lights too. I'm gonna call the dealership since my IS is a CPO. But does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

OK figured out what was wrong. The actual connectors were disconnected. Apparently, the previous owner might have done some mods to the lights (changed the light bulbs) but didn't reinstall things correctly. Just a reminder to all of us, we need to think about the future owner of our car when we put everything back to stock before selling it!

That's a good question and I thought about it too, but those light bulbs are very little and since they are in the same housing as the DRLs it is possible that they can be ignored. But, I agree the dealer and their techs should've found this problem since the car is a CPO.

That's a possibility, but they left their fog light bulbs and I don't really like the color (yellow) so I guess they had aftermarket parking lights. I'm probably gonna change the fog lights to either stock bulbs or something more appealing whenever I find time to take off the bumper.

No need to take off the bumper. 2 clips on each side and thats it.

Side markers is part of the car. Normal for both US and Canada.

Are you referring to the fender side turn signals seen on the Japanese car?

I think only the North American ISx50s don't have the signals on fenders.
