Default Serious fuel comsumption issue

Hey guys first post here, bought an 06 IS with 10k on the clock about 2 months ago.

Car has recently been serviced in January (basic maintenance)

However, between then and now the car I discovered has been burning wayyy to much fuel.
As in about 180 miles to a tank. My on board computer says I'm averaging 21mpg.

I'am doing STRICTLY city driving.. But that still shouldn't justify this car doing that horrid on gas. My previous car (m3) was getting 180 miles in tank. Any help would be appreciated... thanks guys

yes, it does. But 180 miles in a tank does not.

Default my tank

I have a 2011 2IS and my sensor tells me I get about 370 miles on a full tank.
Unless your tank is half the size, there's something seriously wrong.

You should be getting at least 340 per tank but the norm consumption is 19-23 on city driving. Maybe run your tank to E and refill to see if the computer recalculates it.

I avg 500km/tank, so about 310mi/tank

Maybe last maintenance used a 0w or 5w40/50 fuel, so ur oil burn faster and fuel consumption increase too?

cant rli think of anything else right now....

IS250 or 350?

Reset the ECU. Unplug the battery and leave it unplug for a minute and plug it back in.

Averaging 21 mpg in the city is normal, but 180 miles per tank not. Try resetting your ECU. Have you noticed any smells or other symptoms that can relate to it?

Smoky it is an IS250.

Gville, yes 10k documented miles.

Nima, nope no other symptoms. No smell, leaks etc.

So to reset ECU, just unplug battery for a minute? Thanks guys!

you might also have to roll your windows down fully then bring them back up once you unplug the battery or they won't function correctly

Use a pencil and paper to figure your mileage. Miles driven/gal used = mpg. I think your math is messed up somewhere. You can't get 21 mpg and yet say you are only getting 180 mi to the tank. It does not compute.

I've never in my life gotten 21 on the street.
