Not to thread jack, but I'm also coming from the BMW scene as well with my E90 328i.
i'm just currently looking for a IS250 6spd right now. Would you guys say it's the same comparison as the is350 to the 335i for the is250 and 328i? I won't be selling the 328i, but I just need another car, and I've been looking around for an is250.

slwdrvr, the 328 will give yo ua much sportier feel along with better performance than the is250. you have to be more aggressive with the throttle to get similar acceleration.

the IS250 though is a very comfortable and reliable car.

For the BMW guys who are looking to swap into an equivalent lexus, why not just buy a bmw CPO for a few k and not worry about repairs until 100k? What is the point of getting into a used car that you do not know what the issues are when you know your car better. It only makes sense if you can sell your BMW for more then you will by the IS because you need the $$$.

Me im looking to get back into a bmw after my fun runs out with my 350.

I really think the older BMWs were more of a drivers car. My friend says that Lexus don't have any "soul". I miss my 330i with the ZHP package (for those that dont know, it's kinda like the F-Sport package). Even that dosnt' compare to the "feel" of an 88 M3.

My advise is don't do it unless you're sure you like the way the Lexus drives. I missed the German feel the whole time I had a Lexus. Even with full F-Sport suspension it didn't feel as crisp.

My IS350 spent a decent amount of time in the shop so there is that. If your BMW is a CPO or under warranty no reason to swap. IS350 has 0 performance upgrade potential while the 335 has a good bit.

Thats my .02.

BMW member that cross over to Lexus will always miss the performance and sporty drivability of the BMW. I miss my E46 M3 it felt so much better on turn than my 350. Not to mention 6 speed manual redlining at 8500rpm. I'm waiting for the 335is price to drop then I might pick up a used one.

With all this said, I'm keeping the beemer and getting extended warranty for a few grand, it's worth it, thanks a lot for the info guys, hey I still drive a Lexus anyways, 95 SC400, I bought a custom made supercharger for it but lost touch with the guy who sold it to me so I'm stuck on the installation, you all have a good day!

Wise choice, if the choice had been for the newest 3- or 5- series, then the modifications BMW has made, IMHO, detract from the driving experience, while Lexus has made their new generation of vehicles more sport like and handle better. I have had multiple German cars, and I miss the handling of my '09 535ix, and would be still driving if the gremlins in the system and the multiple fuel injectors and turbo needed replacement in my three years of ownership made me sour on the new BMWs
