Default A little advice from the best car community i've seen... thanks in advance

First, you guys are the best car community ever. I couldn't be happier coming to Lexus and seeing the wealth of information you guys help each other with. I'm not gonna name other brands, but i've seen many people withholding information from each other and you guys seem to always be down to help each other out and that's awesome.

Like most people, looking to upgrade my suspension/wheels. if anyone could take a look at what i'm looking at and say yay or nay if this setup will look nice and not rub or mess up anything i would greatly appreciate it.

2008 IS-250 RWD (completely stock right now)

suspension - Road Magnet Lowering Springs
http://www.roadmagnet.com/products-b...s/lexus-is-250

wheels -
Avarus AV6 Black w/machined lip
19x8.5 front
19x9.5 rear

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...79BML&i2_Qty=2

tires -
Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2
225/35/R19 front
255/35/R19 rear

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....1A2XL&i3_Qty=2

basically, will this be a decent setup for someone that just wants to give their IS a little uniqueness but not have to worry about rubbing or being too low or crashing into speed bumps and such. i'm not looking for the highest quality products of wheels and tires but something that won't fall apart on me or tires that wear out super fast. both of these products seemed midgrade on tirerack.

i just want it to be lowered a little (especially the front HUGE wheel gap) and not lower the rear a whole lot and then the wheels and tires look good without being too big or rubbing. i'm not looking to have the best STANCE as i think its called. just a little something different from stock without getting crazy.

any help is appreciated! respect!! love this forum.

+45 offsets? You'll be fine. Just low on those springs. Tires and wheels are fine.

thank you!

can you recommend a spring (not coilovers) that wouldn't be as low as to rub when driving/turning? thanks for helping a noob!

I have H&Rs on my AWD and it is a perfect drop for springs in my opinion. Probably one of the most even drops you can find with springs and it closes the giant stock wheel gap. Photo is with stock 17s btw, would look even better with some 19s

Wheels look pretty good. You should be fine with that set up, offsets should be in the conservative range as heyarms mentioned. Welcome to CL and happy modding.

Also, if you're looking for information about fitments with lowered cars, check out the fitment thread

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...tart-here.html

Pretty much every fitment possible has been discussed, even some that seem impossible. Welcome to CL. Now, get to work modding.

Welcome to Club Lexus

Road Magnet springs offers the lowest drop of all lowering springs. H&R's Sport is probably the widely used springs here in CL. Second most popular are Tein's S Tech and Eibach.

Make sure to check CL vendor marketpalce. Chances are sellers might carry the springs and wheel/ tire package you're looking for

Happy modding

CL is definitely one of the more helpful and friendly forums out there. Take advantage of the search bar and you'll find yourself saving A LOT of money!

Wheels and tire sizes are not too aggressive, but perfect for daily driving if that is what you are looking for. You can also go a 235/35/19 and 265/30/19

Good Luck!

thank you for the replies everyone who chimed in to help me out. i'm pretty much sold on this setup and plan on purchasing through tirerack, one of the forum's sponsors. with the H&R springs.

another question... with this offset on the wheels, do you think im going to want spacers in the rear? if so, how large? thanks a bunch!

Definatly reccomend H&R springs.

Personally I wouldnt get a spacer...just get "better" offsets. I can tell you from personal experience - you can go as aggressive as 8.5+35 front and 9.5+35 rear and NOT rub - its a perfect setup for a DD, looks good and won't give you any issues.

I'm at +30F and +35R and I Just barely rub the front fender liner on certain turns, .....no rubbing on the back. .

Note- you can definitely go more aggressive, but It seems like you want function with no worries -

Tire Rack won't steer you wrong. They do usually offer conservative offsets so you can go a bit more aggressive so you won't need spacer(which is better without them). Good luck and post pics
