My hood is in rough shape, it has 2 spots that are not nice to look at. The previous owner did something to it, either not waxing it correctly or who knows. To get it painted will be at least $400! Any suggestions on the wrap? The aerotect stuff looks like it may work but my color is SGM.

I would just repaint it or get a carbon fiber hood.

^ not a good look IMO... a combination of different blacks on a car looks tacky. I'd say repaint it

IMO CF wrap looks like crap. I've got my roof gloss black wrapped and it looks pretty damn nice.

I wrapped my roof with CF along with other parts on my car that was black


OP you can go with wrapping your hood with CF it would look better than wrapping it with a color that similar to SGM like the pic you posted but it won't look as good as a actual carbon fiber hood bc the CF vinyl is more of a matte look it won't be as shiny as real carbon fiber. On top of that if you do wrap your hood later on say a year or so down the road if you decide to take it off due to rock chips and what not, the paint may look slightly different from the rest of you car with the rest of the body having sun exposure. If the day comes to sell that vinyl you wanna put on your hood might not be appealing to others and if the paint does look different due to sun exposure then you'll end up having to repaint it anyways.

Why don't you just paint the hood? $400 isn't too bad and you will eventually have to paint it. When you pull that wrap off, it's not going to magically make the hood look nicer!

Is wrapping the roof difficult or is I pretty straight forward because it's basically flat?
