New member from the north!
Hello everyone!
just wanted to stop in and introduce myself and my first lexus!
My fiance' and I had been shopping for a new (used) car for a while after selling her mazda 3 and listing up my 8thgen civic. We were originally looking at picking up a new CT200 F-sport, but decided to get something used and save some of the cash for the upcoming wedding.
We were cross shopping with TSX's, TL's, RDX, G35/G37 and the like. We did test drive an 06 IS250 RWD in black earlier this week, and although it had low km and a good price, with the winters we have here i wanted something a little more easy to drive. I wasn't a fan of the color or the manual transmission, so we kept looking.
A day later we scoured to local classifieds and found a 2007 IS250 AWD in glacier frost mica for $21,500. It was fully loaded minus the nav package. We went to check it out about an hour later on my lunch break, and with only 83K KM (about 50,000 miles), a really mint interior and fairly mint exterior, (impressive when you consider our winters) we were sold. It was always serviced at the lexus dealer here in town at the normal intervals, and all the records are on file as well. I checked with the dealership and as soon as i gave them the VIN, they pulled up the info and told me they knew the lady owner personally. I usually do all my own maintenance, so i think i'll be doing all that service from here on out. I am however, not really looking forward to the spark plug change :P.
So far for the last 2 days we have been loving the car and all its cool features, even for an 07. We actually just wrapped all the wood trim with black carbon overlay and it really set off the interior for us. The garage is looking good with the shiny lexus in there along with my S2K
I'm planning on spending a few days doing a full out detail on it, with which i will post a new thread to show progress pics and a finished product.
Really looking forward to being around these forums for a while, although i'm hoping that i wont be in the carbon build-up thread too much
Here's a couple of crappy pics just to throw in!
