Hi Guys...
I apologize if this the wrong place to be posting this. I am currently in the market for a new 2012 IS 350. I will be content with having just the base IS350 model. The problem is that non of dealers around me (DC area) are showing any 350s with the base configuration. Everything is priced at 45K plus (That's wayyyy out of my range - I was expecting to pay mid 30s - maybe I'm just dreaming).

Can you guys please guide that how much can I expect to pay for a brand new 350 and how to go about negotiating with the dealers? Ive never bought a new car before...

yeah i seriously doubt you will find a 12 is350 for 35k everything around us is mid 40s

if you're looking to spend mid 30s you should buy a used IS F

MSRP on a brand new, base IS350 is about 40k. So if you are expecting to pay mid-30s, you're out of luck. Maybe you can find a lightly used 2011 model for around that price....but I wouldn't expect to get that price on a brand new 350.

Or like already suggested, just go for a used IS-F

I'm gonna assume OP wants a 350 so it has some *****. So a 250 new or not is definitely out of the question. If i didn't need awd for the harsh winters here I would've bought a IS F when i was car shopping. A used ISF with roughly 30-50k miles go for about mid 30s vs a new 350 for 40k.... Id take a IS F. But thats just me.

they should be able to tell you what the car is selling month to month and gives you the upper hand as to how much you would be able to negotiate....GL and hopefully you can become one of us!
You should also ask for dealer invoice and speak only to fleet managers..all others are just middle men in the way

List price for a brand new is350 (standard features) otd is around $42k. You can get around that price at the lowest. It will be impossible to get a brand new IS350 for 35k.

I bought a 2011 in december last year and while I got 6k off sticker and the f-sport exhaust and key card thrown in, I still wish I had bought 1 or 2 years old for the huge savings.

Thanks a lot for all the great pointers guys.... the only reason I am interested in the 350 is due to the extra 100 HP...

I currently drive a 2001 CL which has 217 HP (FWD).... If I go for the 250, will it be a major drop form my current engine power? (I am completely satisfied with my current power). Also since my CL is almost 11 years old, will it still be pumping 217 as advertised?

so why not get a IS F? you would have a extra 100 hp over the 350?

I would buy a used new body style GS350, imo much nicer looking then the IS and the IS I assume will be revamped in a year or two. It would suck to buy a new IS and then the newer version comes out a year later. Its like buying an iphone 3g and then realizing the 4g was to be released a week after lol crappy feeling!
