Default What causes lack of performance?

To make it short, I've always doubted if my IS350 really has 306 horsepower. The other day, I "raced" a Toyota Matrix and lost. The car was in D and I just floored it at a light. I was tied with it but the Matrix began pulling after 70 MPH. Couldn't believe I lost to it. And I've raced my friend's 2.0 Genesis Coupe and we always tied.

Now I'm wondering if something is wrong with my engine. Everything is up to date with maintenance including spark plugs changed 10K miles ago. Been watching videos of 0-60 times on the IS350 and mine is no where near as fast as most.

Today, I went to try my 0-60 time and it took almost 7 seconds in D with ECT Power on and traction off. When most IS350's I see on YouTube take off, it changes to 2nd gear when redlining at about 40 MPH. Mine changes to 2nd at 30 MPH and it's redlining. The mods I have are a CF hood which reduced some weight, Takeda intake, and exhaust.

Any suggestions on what to do to increase engine performance?

You sure you don't have an IS250 with IS350 badging?

Lol, that's what I think but it's not. My engine doesn't look like my friend's IS250 engine and I got the bigger brakes. So I can rule that out.

Could be the ECU. Disconnect the battery leads and while it's relearning your driving style, drive it like you stole it for a hundred miles or so.

Ooo you gon learn today....

I will save you the "do the search" lecture but to save you some time I will summarize what everyone will eventually say.
Turn off your driving assists. Leave in drive. Turn off power ect. Quarter of a tank (if you can help it). Nobody riding shotgun.

You loose to a matrix again, debadge and apply 250.

LoL hope this helps, happy "racing."

Lexus IS 250

Lexus IS 350
0-60 mph @ 5.3 seconds
1/4 mile @ 13.8 s @ 101 mph

Yeah I would reset the ECU too, and leave the ECT button in the normal mode. The car will actually be slightly faster to accelerate than in ECT-PWR

To make things worse, the gas light was already on too!

That's exactly what I'm saying. Feels a bit slow to be an IS350 but a tad too fast for an IS250. I'll see if my friend wants to race me in his IS250 after work today and we'll see.

What causes lack of performance?
The driver.

C'mon man, a Matrix has 160hp; half the power of a 350.
And what the heck are you doing racing a Matrix?
