NEED HELP!! A/c is not working
so just now i got in my car and put the a/c on.
waiting and still blowing hot air so i pressed auto.
nothing is happening is there a fuse i can check or something
where is the fuse located thanks

Lexus Test Driver
Thats usually indicative of low refridgerant. I would start there.
There are also a number of cutout switches that will cause the compressor not to kick on.... low pressure and high pressure switches
If you are mechanically inclined you could pick yourself up a set of r134a guages from your local autostore and check the pressures yourself.
the low pressure port is near the driver side firewall and is a bit difficult to get to. The high side port is near the front upper grille driver side behind the aluminum support beam.
This chart is a GENERAL idea of the pressures you should be seeing at any given temperature. Its just a gerenal rule of thumb for any r134 application and not to lexus brand itself.

60 F -----28-38 psi----130-190 psi ----44-46 F
70 F ------30-40 psi ---190-220 psi ----44-48 F
80 F ------30-40 psi ---190-220 psi ----43-48 F
90 F ------35-40 psi ---190-225 psi ----44-50 F
100 F -----40-50 psi ---200-250 psi ----52-60 F
110 F -----50-60 psi ---250-300 psi ----68-74 F
120 F -----55-65 psi ---320-350 psi ----70-75 F
If you are reading a low pressure, thats indicative of a leak somewhere in the system. Hopefully its at a fitting, but most often it occurs within the compressor housing itself, which is expensive to replace.

I just recharged my A/C the other day. Minimum was .88lbs and Max is 1.10 lbs. I only recovered .68 lbs so i don't think the dealer or whoever charged it to full. I recharged it and now it blows out icecubes!
