Unhappy 2007 IS250 Stolen Passenger Side View Mirror!!

So someone stole my passenger side mirror...
I am not going to pay what a local lexus dealership wanted for the part since all I am missing is just the mirror. So I've decided to buy it from here:
http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...07&catalogid=2
But as you've noticed in the picture whoever took the mirror cut the wires, which I suspect are the heating wires so close. Obviously these need to be replaced but I am not sure how. I don't know what kind of wires to purchase and how complicated this DIY is going to be.
If anyone could walk me through the process, I would really appreciate it.

Wow! That blows! I'd be so pissed! Why not go through insurance?

Wouldn't it be nuts if the "Discount Toyota Parts" was stealing car parts and selling 'em right back to you!?!

No doubt someone is getting paid to steal it for some parts store somewhere. Or a cash strapped Lexus owner, maybe...I mean whoever did it knew exactly what to do and brought a cutting tool and didn't even leave a scratch. I mean you can see how sharp the cut wires are in the picture. I don't want to deal with insurance because I will have to file a police report, etc...too much hassle.

Anyone exactly knows what the heating feature does? I broke my driver side mirror months back trying to put LEDs in the puddle lights. I decided to be cheap and buy a piece of mirror glass and stick it over that shattered glass and there is no difference between the functional one and the fake mirror. I think you'll be fine just putting a new mirror in without wiring it up, but if you want to, just get 24 gauge or smaller wire from RadioShack and tie the new wire to the cut and solder the other end to the mirror contacts. Fixing it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes honestly. Here's a video on how to reinstall the mirror, make sure to be careful putting in on the bottom two clips, I cracked my mirror there.

It only takes 5 seconds to loosen the mirror and to cut the wires with plain scissors. Now I think of it, so much stuff can be stolen off our cars with ease, who knows what people will try stealing: mirrors, wipers, badges (especially those with the black pearl ones), fog lights, rims. Heck, they can take apart our car if they had enough time. Anyways, sorry to see what happened and hopefully you can fix it with ease.

My first car got stolen. '66 VW Bug. Found it the next day on a dirt road. There wasn't a thing left on it that could be removed, just the frame. That was under 24 hours later.
