Where do you guys change your oil?
I just bought my 08' IS250 last month and the display shows that my oil change is needed soon
Is it best to take it to a dealership to have it change? How much do they charge ?
or can I just take it to some oil change mechanic shop? Would they be able to do the reset?

i always use the dealership (mcgrath lexus of chicago) i wish i would of gotten that 5 year free oil change deal.
cost is under &75. i was so used to doing all of my other cars repairs and oil changes, but with this lexus it's different. i want to keep a perfect maintenance record from the dealer, it may help in the long run as far as warranty and possibly selling it privately, and of course if i do sell it ill get another lexus, i dont want anything other than a lexus from now on. i remember when i had a 91 es250 lol resembled a camry!

I take it to a Lexus dealership. Even tho there are 2 within 20 minutes of me, I drive about 40 minutes to another dealership that I trust and where I have an SA that i've built a good relationship with. I supply my own oil and they just charge me for the filter and labor which really isn't that much. Building a good relationship with my SA has really helped me so far! Especially when my car was in for carbon build up issues.

Big RP fan, here! I would change my own oil if I could solve 2 problems. How do you all keep from getting oil all over the garage floor when you pull the plug or remove the filter canister? Also, there is no way I want to carry 6 quarts of used oil in either of my cars, to a disposal site! How do you get rid of your used oil?

Do Not take it to the dealership and save your money for other important maintenance items such as spark plugs, brakes, brake fluid,... these cars don't even take synthetic oil so the oil change should cost you less than $40. I've been paying $37 and i haven't had any issues so far (sitting at 70k). find yourself a good mechanic (if you don't want to do it yourself) and take your car there. I did spark plugs and brake fluid flush recently for $130 (parts not included) which would have cost around $400 or maybe more at the stealership. You can buy the parts from sewell lexus for very reasonable prices. so get the parts from sewell and find yourself a good mechanic and save money.

An oil change is about $50 at my dealership.
While this is a little more than DIY (and I do encourage DIY if possible) it's not much more than anyplace else you'd pay to do it (and actually trust to do it) so it's probably worth doing at the dealer for any goodwill regarding future repairs.
The key to paying $50 iis I ask for an oil and filter change only.
if you ask for the "X miles maintenance" even if the only thing they actually need to do is an oil change, that's $150. For the same actual work.
Also watch out for this, one area dealership does the oil change for $50. Or they have an "oil change special" is is $109. It's the same work. but much like the "X miles service" thing they throw some BS 'inspection' items on the invoice to pad the bill.
