Do Not take it to the dealership and save your money for other important maintenance items such as spark plugs, brakes, brake fluid,... these cars don't even take synthetic oil so the oil change should cost you less than $40. I've been paying $37 and i haven't had any issues so far (sitting at 70k). find yourself a good mechanic (if you don't want to do it yourself) and take your car there. I did spark plugs and brake fluid flush recently for $130 (parts not included) which would have cost around $400 or maybe more at the stealership. You can buy the parts from sewell lexus for very reasonable prices. so get the parts from sewell and find yourself a good mechanic and save money.

oil change from dealer - no way
The first time i needed an oil change on my 07 ES350, took to Lexus. Guy quoted $85...I asked do they use white gloves? Also, tire rotation.... Another $50.... Actually service manager said really, just go to a reputable service station or business to have this done. Thanks to him i did. Local tire/auto service center (no, not Pep Boys) but one that has a great reputation here in Delaware. Same oil Lexus uses, filter etc. plus tire rotation $45 total. Okay, i saved $90 but true, they didn't wear white gloves so guess my loss?

The dealership's "hand wash" comes with the added special of swirls Trust me, they didn't hire top of the line detailers to get your car clean. Especially as a free service.
Back to topic: I have my friend who is a mechanic do my oil. Easier than putting my car up on ramps and helps support a smaller mechanic!

I do it myself in my garage. About $22 for the OEM filter, new drain plug gasket, and good ol' SuperTech oil (hey it meets the specs).
I figure with the money I save from not going to the dealer, I can buy myself some tools like the ramps, oil filter wrench, etc.
Actually if you take it to someone who doesn't have the correct oil filter wrench, they may strip the outside of the oil filter housing, which would really suck.
The oil change reminder light you can reset yourself by holding down the odometer button when you start the car.
When you pull the plug, take into account that the oil will jet out about 8 inches.
There are two types of filter canister. I think on the AWD, you can open the center and stick a spout in. There's no spout on the RWD, but the canister sits sideways. Open the canister almost to the end, then align the two big tabs vertically, and the oil should drain out cleanly near the bottom tab.
I pour the old oil back into the oil containers and bring them to Walmart or any auto shop.

Big RP fan, here! I would change my own oil if I could solve 2 problems. How do you all keep from getting oil all over the garage floor when you pull the plug or remove the filter canister? Also, there is no way I want to carry 6 quarts of used oil in either of my cars, to a disposal site! How do you get rid of your used oil?

The dealer wants $97 or more for an oil change. Local trusted shop will change the oil for $35 plus filter.
Been using the local shop for years already, never had a problem. I also keep all my recipe for records purposes.
