Default 07 IS250 Electrical issues...

Question is should I get rid of my AWD IS250 or stick with it? I have 44k on my 2007 and hanged had surprisingly many issues with my first Lexus. I bought precertified with a 3 year warranty. My warranty expiries October 2012.

1. Major rattle issues in interior...dealer fixed it
2. Cd player malfunctioned twice...dealer replaced
3. Both power mirrors failed...dealer fixed
4. Massive road dust collecting on rims TSB...dealer replaced brake pads
Front bumper paint peeling off apparently they did,a bad job touching up, the car but they painted the entire bumper free of charge...love the service
5. Odometer motor starting to fail making weird noises when vehicle starts up.....dealer replaced
6. Now my right headlight is dim and not as bright as the left...have to take to dealer

So overall just concerned about this car as my warranty, from Lexus is expiring. Should I get an extended warranty or buy something else?

I have owned the car since oct. 2009 and it had 15k miles on it. Love the dealer service but hate all the, issues. Thanks for any advice

stick with the car. if you have already replaced all that stuff and get a new IS, you risk the same stuff going bad again. plus if it was fixed by a dealer, most dealers will warranty their own work.

i have 72500 miles on my 06 IS250 AWD that I bought pre-owned. Prior owner replaced a few things in the steering and suspension, all 4 rims, TSB's, touch up paint, nothing major major and when I bought it at 55000 miles I just did the preventative maintenance, ballasts, wear and tear items, and rear calipers. overall my maintenance costs are rather low. and I've actually done all of the maintenance until I hit at least 90k/100k miles or two years from now, except oil changes. so I can't complain.

on a side note. my old mazda rx8 had every major problem it could compared to other owners. had the cat converter go, engine flooded a total of 19 times (requires new spark plugs every time) due to internal apex seals going bad, new clutch (my fault), new headlights and taillights, needed a new battery twice, new coil packs 4 times, o and when I sold it I burned that clutch, the transmission was failing, and it needed a new starter. though due to my expert detailing skills and a can of Glade made it all better. lol

Did you check the car if it's made in China? Lol jk.. But I agree with irishcharm because you are not expecting a newer car would have less issue, unless you buy a brand new car.

I'd get a new car or New(er), the brake pads issue with alot of dust is known, Lexus uses low dust break pads on our cars. But all those other issues just doesnt make me feel good, I would honestly consider selling while you still have the warranty because after the warranty you could be S.O.L.

I personally have mixed feelings. It's something you would only know. The car is great and youve replaced everything you possible could have. And if any of it were to happen again, you could always say they didn't address the issue correctly. Not for them to absorb the full cost, but rather cover a little more then they would have. A new car is subject to the same problems you've experienced. The only difference is that it's all under warranty again.

I decided to keep the car. I paid it off a long time ago and might as well stick with it since there hasn't been any drivetrain issues.

My tire pressure light is ALWAYS coming on when there is a change in the weather. I must have taken it to the dealer about 20 times this year alone(free car wash so I didn't mind). They checked all tires and no leaks, but did say that the computer system was too sensitive for the tire pressure system. they lowered it. They also suggested I put nitrogen in the tires($50) and that was a waste of money. the same problem occurs.

I have a pre certified warranty till Oct 2012. Can someone help me with all the TSB's for this car? How do I get the dealer to work on this car for all the listed TSB's out there? I'm sure there is some kind of TSB with the tire pressure system. Thanks!

Losing air pressure in the winter time is normal. Nothing a dealer cam do but pump air. It a know fact with alloy wheel during cold winter time you'll lose a few psi.
