DIY: 2011+ MY LED Headlight Installation ("How To")
#62
I really wish my dealership installs the 2012 headlights for me or I will just ask them to give me the headlights and I will try to install it myself using the DIY threads here.

Thanks a lot Ohio. Just had a word with my service advisor and they said that they can fix the 2012 OEM lights as soon as they have stock of it. But the issue is they want me to sign stating that I can't hold them responsible if any of my electronics stops functioning normally and my warranty would be void ( I have warranty till Oct 2012 btw ). Am i treading on dangerous lines now .

Is your concern the bubling issue?

No , my concern's are
1) continuous blinking of AFS warning on MID which means I won't be able to use the MID for anything else.
2) Stopping the AFS from blinking means the auto leveling function will stop functioning on the car. Jeff's method is like rocket science, there is no way in hell the guy's at my dealership will figure that out.
3)Not sure they will be able to make the DRL's 100 % bright and keep it that way till the car is turned off which is the normal functioning of the DRL I guess.
4) No warranty for the headlights or any electrical's that get spoiled after their installation.
So clearly bubbling is the least of my worries

Ok so an update after talking to my advisor.
They will not provide any kind of warranty for the 2012 OEM headlight installation. The worst is they will not do any kind of modification to the connectors i.e re-wiring etc. instead they will replace the entire wiring connection from the body to the headlights. This is worse because they still would not give warranty and there is a risk of getting warning lights for engine and VSC check. I definitely can't live with that. So dropped the plan completely and asked them to put brand new 2010 lights itself
Just planned to get 2012 Sewell lights a year down from now and do the install myself.

I just installed the LOADED LED headlights today, but the yellowish DRLs are also running with the LEDs. Is there a way to disable the yellow DRLS and keep the LEDs on?
It looks like the headlights in this video, without the low beams.
