Default Aftermarket Lugs with Stock Wheels

I accidentally stripped a lug earlier and I managed to get it off, but I need a new lug now and I figured I might as well go aftermarket and get some colored ones.

I'm planning to run these with my stock 08 liquid graphite wheels and I was wondering what the difference might be between extended and just regular? lugs. I've seen them before, but I think extended might stick out too far with stock wheels..

Anybody do this before? Pics? Info? Suggestions?

Thanks guys

Extended lugs are just that, extended. Nothing really special. You can get any lug you want, as long as the thread size and seat shape is the same.

From what I know, you can't use aftermarket lugs on the stock wheels, or it's not safe to. The majority of aftermarket lugs are 60 degree seats while the stocks are mag seats with a washer. They will fit on the stock wheels but that'll be dangerous. I was only able to find two different types of aftermarket lugs to use on the stock wheels. On eBay, they have only black or chrome and regular or extended. No other colors.

In most cases factory lugs are designed for the factory wheel only and they can't be used on aftermarket wheels. So typically aftermarket lugs will not work on factory wheels.

Like the 2nd poster said if the lug seat is identical, then I don't see a problem. But if they are not then I would not risk it.

Well I have a set sitting around from another car. They're 12x1.5 and have 45 degree ball seats... You think I could be okay with that? Or should I just go ahead and buy a lug nut from the sewell

EDIT: further research has led me to believe that It's not and I need something with a mag seat.

You can buy a set of "mag seat" lug nuts at this website

They have black lug nuts, $50 for a set of 20, but you gotta add shipping.
They have regular chrome lug nuts, $20 for a set of 20 or $12 for 10.

I've bought lug bolts from them for my VW and the quality of the chrome is good, it hasn't rusted yet and I've been using it for 2 years. Don't know how good the black coating is though.
