Nima,

Since we're both in the same area and I also drive in Vancouver, Canada.. I used both the AWD and RWD. Didn't have problems driving in the snow. Ended up giving the AWD to my dad and I went with RWD. Proper tires and it's all good. I didn't need the mpg hit for the better sportier ride.

Thanks Sango. It's good to know that the RWD is good in snow. I'm comparing my AWD to the previous cars I had which were FWD, my AWD IS250 has a lot better handling in snow.

Oh I see fair enough. It depends on the implementation as well. If you have proper tires then you're taking full advantage of the system.

I used to have FWD car too, a 99 Camry Solara which my dad given to me when he switched to Lexus years ago. Had all-seasons on it back in the day as I as not familar with tires back then, so the car did act twitchy but I knew how to control the car in the snow. My mom still has her 99 Camry to this day, and uses winter tires, and works like a charm in the snow when I drove it.
