Hear the tire and road while driving
#16
My brother has these on his M45. They are quite a bit louder than the Bridgestone RE970s I have on my IS. Other than the cost, I have been very pleased with the 970s. They are smooth, quiet and great in the rain. The RE050s seem to track cracks and things in the road quite a bit more, which sometimes makes them feel a bit less stable I think.
There are lots of different tires that can help reduce road noise though. I've had good luck with bridgestones on several cars. In my experience, good tires make the single biggest change to the feel of a car. It always surprises me how dramatic the difference is.

Fact: The IS WILL be louder in terms of noise while driving than lets say the GS or ES the IS is a sport sedan. I have a GS and also an ES and my daily driver most days is the IS 350. I certainly notice road noise more in the IS especially when I just drove one of the other models.
Your rim size and tire option will be the best way to change this
IS models are know for having a "Not quite" engine. Don't be too alarmed by this unless it seems way too loud.
If anything just drive to the Lexus dealership test drive the new GS you'll love it! and test drive a newer IS. You will notice. Cheers mate.
